The Competition

This year, new to Layne's Legacy-Beading For A Cure, we have added another element to the event. We are certain this will not only bring more attention to our cause, but should also spur our participants to strive to produce some of their best beadwork for the event. Just take a look at our ever-growing list of prizes up for grabs! We hope the thought of winning some of these amazing items will encourage you to create your very best project ever for Beading For A Cure!

As always, The Challenge of working with a kit of pre-selected beads remains, and you must also complete your project and have it postmarked by August 2nd, 2010. Please read both the Challenge Rules as well as the Competition Rules to be certain you are clear on all of the rules. Failure to follow the rules will disqualify you.

The Competition will have the following categories that have at least the listed prize donations:

1st Place (currently estimated at $1000.00 worth of prizes)
2nd Place
(currently estimated at $750.00 worth of prizes)
3rd Place
(currently estimated at $500.00 worth of prizes)
Best Use of Kit
(currently estimated at $350.00 worth of prizes)
Best Non-Wearable Item
(currently estimated at $350.00 worth of prizes)

The projects will be judged by the standing board members of Layne's Legacy-Beading For A Cure as well as our Celebrity Judges:

Jeannette Cook
Marcia DeCoster
Diane Fitzgerald
Sherry Serafini

All board members and judges are forbidden from participating in The Competition.

You must turn in a maximum of five high-quality images. These images are what the judges will use to evaluate your project. You should make every effort that the images are clear and detailed.
Please see the
Competition Rules page for detailed information on the images you need to supply.

The announcement of the winners will take place after the first of the year 2011.

As always, the projects will be auctioned off on eBay beginning in March 2011.

If you feel that you cannot meet the rules of The Competition, please do not purchase a kit. It could be used by someone else who can meet them.

Our ultimate goal has always been to raise as much money as possible to donate to colorectal cancer research in Layne's name.

For more detailed information on the rules please visit our Rules page.
